Why everyone keeps coming back.

Apple Barrel Restaurant in Cheyenne, Wyoming is a standout destination for anyone craving classic American comfort food served with a warm, welcoming touch. Nestled conveniently at 12500 Interstate 80 Service Rd, this gem offers travelers and locals alike a cozy sit-down dining experience that feels like a delicious, homestyle retreat amid the hustle of a truck stop.

The menu expertly celebrates the best of American fare, featuring hearty sandwiches, juicy burgers, and thoughtfully crafted signature dishes. Among the favorites, the BLT stands out with thick-cut pecan smoked bacon or a spicy jalapeño bacon, paired perfectly with fresh lettuce, ripe tomato, and creamy mayo on soft bread—each bite delivers that satisfying balance of smoky and savory flavors. For those who enjoy a classic indulgence, the Breaded Pork Tenderloin sandwich is a must-try: tender, breaded pork cutlet layered with crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles melded with mayo and mustard on a toasted bun, creating a blissful, crunchy-soft texture combination. The Club Sub, loaded with fresh sliced ham, turkey, and thick-cut bacon, topped with Swiss and American cheese, showcases layers of flavors embraced by a toasted hoagie roll, making for a filling yet refined lunch or dinner option.

For burger lovers, the Burger Made Your Way is a highlight, featuring a fresh, never frozen Nebraska beef patty—choose your seasoning from classic, blackened, or peppered, and top it with cheeses like American, provolone, Swiss, or pepper jack. The option to add signature toppings such as grilled onions or sautéed mushrooms elevates this burger beyond ordinary. These burgers arrive on perfectly toasted buns, crowned with crisp lettuce and fresh tomato, and finished with the restaurant’s signature chef sauce, creating a juicy, flavorful bite that leaves you craving one more.

Apple Barrel’s drink selection complements the hearty food with a range of refreshing beverages including cold classics like Sprite, Diet Coke, and regional favorites like Gold Peak Unsweetened Tea—perfect for washing down a filling meal with a crisp, thirst-quenching sip.

The dining atmosphere adds to the charm: customers consistently appreciate the spotless, inviting environment and the friendly staff who greet guests with genuine warmth. Though some have noted occasional service moments to improve, the overall experience remains positive, with many praising the quick food delivery and comfortable booths that invite you to relax and savor your meal. One repeat visitor shared that the burnt ends rivaled those found in Kansas City, a testament to the kitchen’s dedication to quality and flavor that stands out even in a casual setting.

Apple Barrel Restaurant is more than just a convenient stop for those traveling Interstate 80; it’s a rare find where you can enjoy a sit-down meal with the heart and soul of American cooking. Whether you’re a trucker seeking a satisfying break or a family looking for a dependable spot serving up satisfying classics, this restaurant combines wholesome flavors, hearty portions, and genuine hospitality in a way that feels refreshingly authentic.

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants at a truck stop that I’ve been to. The gal who took our order was very friendly, the restaurant was spotless and the food came out pretty quick. My husband got the burnt ends and I got the chicken strips tossed in buffalo. We both got the Parmesan fries and the fruit side as well. He said the burnt ends were comparable to what we get home in Kansas City (a big compliment from him) and my chicken strips were delicious as were our sides. I was honestly really impressed with the fruit cause fruit sides at most places seen like an after though. We’ll definitely be back.

I had the chicken bowl for lunch. It was very good. Service wise not the best. I was ignored when I needed a refill. Another waitress had to fill my drink after I asked her to get her and never came.

Can't find too many truck stops that have sit down restaurants anymore. They are a gem when you can find one. I asked the waiter if business was doing good because there was only I and one other guy in the restaurant when I walked in, she said it's a hit and miss. And fellow truckers wonder why and complain about other truck stops ripping out traditional - sit down restaurants and replacing them with fast food junk. If you don't frequent a business then it may eventually go out of business, there's your sign!

I went here for the first time yesterday. What a great surprise. I had the Patty Melt and it was easily one of the best sandwiches that I have ever had. The prices are very reasonable and service was quick and friendly. I will be back for the Reuben ... and more!

Stayed at Roadway Inn, walked across the parking lot to check-out my options. Decided on the Burnt Ends (8 oz.) and the Parmasan Garlic Fries. Outstanding. The Burnt Ends were tender, juicy and very tasty. When passing thru again, I will stop by again. Ordered take-out. They didn't open up till 6(ish) so I missed Breakfast.
